Dry-rot develops from moisture accumulating in the wood members of a home. Over time,  these members will rot and eventually fail. Once a structural member has been damaged, it has been structurally compromised and should be repaired or replaced. This requires someone that understands structural design and how to methodically approach replacing bearing members safely and effectively with minimum damage to the existing structure in the process.
